Thank you so much to those that turned up on Thursday night. I would like to thank you all for your efforts over the 3 weeks with getting the swimmers to the pool for training.
Things that were addressed:
Swim training days will change from Mon, Tues and Thursday to now be Monday, Wednesday and Friday (STARTING 1st SEPT) Friday sessions will commence at 4pm until daylight saving starts and then they will commence at 5pm.
This has been done for a number of reasons.
Numbers in the afternoon sessions have not been that good and if swimmers are coming to swim club that afternoon is already filled in so may as well do a session before club.
Swimmers can have something to eat after training before club starts. We will do a lot of start, turn and finish work as well as drills for the stroke that is on that Friday.
Numbers are down on Sat mornings and some swimmers do not do any training some times from Thurs thru til the Monday afternoon and if you are wanting to be a competitive swimmer this is too long out of the water.
This will mean transition squad will now be held on Tues and Thursday at 4pm.
ALL squad swimmers are required to become members of the swim club from1st Oct for insurance purposes.
Some swimmers doing morning sessions will be required to attend nominated sessions.
Swimmers in Lane 9 ( morning sessions ) that cannot hold the cycles for the sets or do the minimum 200 m Medley time will be required to attend Mon, Wed and Fri sessions.
Interstate trip for all swimmers
Due to the fact summer state championships are held over 8 days in total, I would like to attend the SA state championships from the 20th-24th Jan 2016. This meet is age, open and MC as well as relays. Great opportunity for all squad members to be together as a team and support each other.,
Nothing better than competing and having support from your team. Swimming at NSW State you don't get this as people just travel up and back in the one day, if you are in a final there is just normally a swimmer and one parent sitting in the stand for support. NSW 10/u to 12 years State will be held on 16th and 17th Jan so you may still do this and 13/0 swimmers may do the first day if you wish.
Heats for SA will be held in the morning with finals in the evening. This is all ages Relays will be held on Sunday. We can't normally do relays at NSW as they are so late at night.
Accommodation can be booked at Westminster college which has brand new rooms at there boarding school. This is located at Marion the town where the pool is located and they have a train stop real close. They can do us breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday if we wish. I have some costings on mini buses.

If you could please forward me an email to let me know if you would support this.
Swim meets over summer
We have our own carnival late Oct or early Nov. would like to do another late Nov and we have SESA championships early Feb. ALL swimmers are required to be on deck for these meets.
Qualifying times can be achieved at our pointscore nights as we are very fortunate to have a qualified referee, starter and timekeeper that attend our Friday nights. We achieved 58 JX swimmers last season.
Country Championships
When I attend meets I do expect to see swimmers before and after there swims to talk to them about the race. Very disappointing to see parents just using the meet mobile app to discuss with their child the time. Some swimmers I only saw for warm up or when they were leaving Please do not use this app to compare your child with other children they know. It is a great app for you to have a look at your child's times but it has got a bit out of hand as swimming is more than just a PB it's about improving a skill, start or turn better etc which is a process to achieve a better time.
Thanks and please respond
